Back Again

 My Car Buddy Parker
Well, it's almost a new year and that brings out the desire to start fresh, renew, and review. 2008 was an interesting year for so many reasons. For me it was a year of learning patience. I thought I had patience until I moved 15 miles outside the city.  At first it was hard because I was so impatient. I wanted to be home NOW. Thoughts of "At the other house I'd be home" "Why did we move?" "What was I thinking?" swirled in my head as I  stubbornly drove the long country road home. But after weeks of fighting it  I realized I can't change it or fix it- so I embraced it. I have my son with me and it dawned on me how much I looked forward to the drive to and from school with him. It's become a mini blessing. I hear so much about him, his day, his basketball practice, his teachers, his life. Things that otherwise might have been lost to me,  I get to hear about and comment on. WHO KNEW such a hard adjustment would turn into such an unexpected treat.

New Week

Who Knew that I'd start a blog and then not return to it several days later? Well, I did..silly. That is what usually happens. I get on a roll and then life gets weird and I stop. Let me tell you it's been weird lately. Don't even know where to begin. Guess I'll start with eating. I've been eating. hahahahah Not good , but not horrible. Just haven't given it any thought. The holiday weekend is to blame. Friday night we went to some friend's house and I brought a cheesecake I had made which I had to sample. That wasn't smart. We ate out Saturday and Sunday also...well probably Friday too. But I tried not to over do it..ate light.....Today seems to be a better day to get back on track.

Wednesday's Food Journal

Who Knew that I'd spend the entire morning stressing about my weight and size and lack of exercise and then go out and get two bean and cheese tacos and guacamole and chips to compliment instead of a sensible salad? This is my problem. How does one stop these nonsensical motions. Well, now I will have to make up this delicious calorie surge with a sensible dinner. That however is OK because if you are on a diet like WW it allows for you to overdo one meal and make up for it at another. You can also compensate  with exercise which I never do, but should.

Who knew it would be this easy to set up a blog. I'm hoping to make this a habit. So today I'm trying to figure out how best to set up my day so that I don't waste it. Summer is slowing dwindling away.  I want to pack something productive in.  One thing I know for sure is that I like my morning computer time. This is my favorite time of day. My second favorite time of the day is my late night TV watching with my son, Parker (It would be my first, but by then I'm so darn tired it's hard to stay awake). It's about the only time he really wants me around. haha I also think nap time fits in there too. I'm trying to decide on some type of schedule so I can incorporate exercise. It's beginning to look like night time is the best for exercising. I joined a gym this summer. That is stress. Stress because you feel guilty for not going everyday and getting your money's worth and stress because you go and feel like a whale in front of everyone. You think that they aren't looking at you, but we all know women look at each other. We joined so Parker could use the basketball courts. He likes going but only if a friend goes with him. Not always easy. So I'm trying to figure out something I can do here at home. Looks like I will have to use our elliptical. I call it the beast. It scares me because it makes me sweat when I get on. I also need to do stretches or something like pilates. I used to do Jane Fonda. I loved her album. It had good music and basic simple exercises. I should get up to speed with this.  So if I'd devote an hour a day to exercise I'd be in good shape. I'm also journaling all my food. Good or bad I'll write it down. I'm also needing a place to vent. I need to get it out and I'm using this nice blog as my tool to do this. Beware, you may not want to read all the rambling  and diet stuff. But aren't a lot of blogs just a lot of ramblings anyway?
